The new, Windmöller & Hölscher extruder joins an existing fleet of three-layer extrusion machinery at the company’s Terrebonne facility and enables the company to increase its production capacity by 33%. “Today marks another milestone  for our team and greatly expands our extrusion capabilities,” stated Plastixx’ Director of Operations, Kevin Couto. “We’re seeing increased demand from our customers for high-performance films that incorporate post-consumer recycled (PCR) material. Our new five-layer line not only enhances our output and range of film sizes, but will also help our customers achieve their sustainability goals.”

With the arrival of its new extruder, Plastixx is set to expand its lineup of sustainable film offerings, while upholding its focus on unmatched product quality. “Plastixx’ products demand high performance,” Couto added. “The new extruder enables us to develop film blends that use higher proportions of PCR resin without compromising the quality, feel, sealability and appearance of our products. It’s a real advantage for our customers.”
